Since the Adoption and Children Act 2002 came into force in 2005, same-sex couples and single LGBTQ+ adopters have had the legal right to adopt.

Each year, more children find loving homes with lesbian, gay, bi or trans parents.

At Adoption@Heart, we actively encourage LGBTQ+ prospective adopters to come forward and learn more about adopting a child.

Adoption@Heart welcomes many enquiries from LGBTQ+ adopters.

We provide information events, clear guidance through every stage of the process, and a buddy scheme so you can hear directly from adopters who’ve been on the journey themselves.

If you are considering adoption, please get in touch through our contact form or join an information event.

A member of the team will be in touch as soon as possible to talk through the process.
